Farzam Yaminifard boasts over 25 years of extensive hands-on experience in the geophysics field, highlighted by his roles in conducting large-scale geophysical surveys and authoring numerous research papers and technical reports. His career includes a significant tenure as a Research Scientist at the International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (IIEES) in Tehran, Iran, where he served from 1995 to 2023. In addition to his research endeavors, Yaminifard has demonstrated adept organizational and administrative capabilities, effectively managing large-scale geophysical surveys. His recent role as a Geophysical Technician at Clearview Geophysics in Brampton, Canada, further underscores his practical expertise and commitment to advancing geophysical sciences.

Dr. Yaminifard’s academic journey is equally impressive, with a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of Grenoble I in France and an M.Sc. in Geophysics from the University of Tehran. He has also contributed as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Toronto and served as a Geophysical Advisor to the Tehran Disaster Management and Mitigation Organization. His international experience includes analyzing seismic, hydroacoustic, and infrasound data at the International Data Centre in Vienna. Dr. Yaminifard’s professional memberships with organizations like Professional Geoscientists Ontario and the Iranian Geophysical Association reflect his active engagement in the global geophysical community, continuously contributing to advancements in the field.
